Welcome

You have reached the WEB site of the Knights of Columbus Usher Ministry for the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC
In 1982, the Knights of Columbus usher ministry was officially formed, although Knights had been volunteer ushers at the shrine for many years prior. The Saturday vigil Mass had even been nicknamed the "Knights' Mass". Today, the ministry has about 275 members from Maryland, Delaware, North Carolina, Virginia and Washington, D.C., including college Knights from The Catholic University of America Council 9542.
Ushers are scheduled to serve at least one regular mass per month and are asked to volunteer to serve special and Pilgrimage masses throughout the year. Initial uniforms are provided by the Usher Ministry at no cost to the ushers.
If you are interested in joining our Ministry please download an application and forward it to the address listed on the application.
